Requires Masters Degree in field related to Human Services from an accredited college or university, which include but not limited to: Social Work; Clinical Psychology; Counseling; Rehabilitative Counseling; Counseling Education; Education; Criminal Justice; or Ministry and at least two (2) years full-time experience in mental health or addictions treatment setting or certification as an Addictions Professional (CAP) by the Certification Board for Addiction Professionals of Florida. Requires participation in a staff-training program.

Requires considerable knowledge of addictions and/or mental health treatment including types of programs, various therapeutic methods and techniques, and an understanding of the factors contributing to the development of substance abuse and/or mental health problems.
